My approach as a workshop facilitator aims to be flexible, inclusive and person-led, with sessions characterised by listening and responding to whoever I work with and their needs. I also offer facilitation in film-making and stop-motion animation, covering story-crafting, pre-production, shooting and post-production. I deliver one-off workshops or longer-term projects in devising live performance, drawing upon drama games, physical theatre techniques, improvisation and creative writing.
Some of the communities I have collaborated with include people living with dementia and their carers, those experiencing homelessness and vulnerable young people. Much of my work involves co-creating devised theatre performances as part of the youth and community-engagement programmes of arts organisations. You DO NOT NEED Dragonframe to learn to make stop-motion films.You DO NEED to practice animation with as few variables as possible. I am currently fascinated by the construction of identity and the role of playfulness within creativity. I only say this because Dragonframe is concerned with far more technical aspects than you should concern yourself with at the beginning stages of learning animation.
